This was the fastest melt I was able to accomplish. The melt to mold process was all done in less than 30 minutes. There is a large are gap on one side that may have been caused by some of my haste.
One of the issues with this melt came from the way I designed the mold. With the top and bottom metal plates sitting loose there were gaps available to the plastic to fill and caused the metal to become embed in the plastic. Thankfully it was not much but I did have to pry the metal out with a screw driver.
Post processing this round I used a chisel to remove the bulk of the squeeze out material and then used a palm router with a chamfer bit to clean the edges.
I am rounding out the posts on single presses with the Red one. Since pressing this one I have been able to run a few melts consistently but wanted to round out the Blue, Green, Red set. I am making this shift to focus more on the projects using these blocks as well as defining the melting entire process in the future.
I'm also working on a larger mold design so be on the look out.
Good luck in what you create and have a great day!
