As was the reason behind my front lens cap design, I had acquired a few vintage Nikon lenses that did not come with back caps. Designed this to keep these lenses in the best condition I could. I had a few official caps that were used for base measurements and have iterated a few times to arrive at this version with a better profile. This back caps align with the f mount and twist to lock on the mount. It took a long time for me to optimize these to the iteration I am at mainly because one of the first versions “worked” but the tolerances were off and the profile was not quite right. It was similar to the situation of beginners luck where it goes well enough the first time because it is not apparent what needs to be done. When trying to improve and make the design better I inadvertently made it worse before improving it as I was learning which design aspects to tune. I am happy with the state it is in now and I hope that it can work well for you if you choose to use it.
